Sea Monsters Repeat As FLFFL Champions!

(FLFFL HQ - Dec 26, 2011) The FLFFL's final championship game wrapped up the league's 20-year run in memorable fashion. Super Bowl XX ended up being the closest championship game in league history as the Sea Monsters defeated the Fighting Falcons by a final score of 112.56 to 109.54.

The Sea Monsters were led to their second league championship by a 31.34 point effort from 10th-round phenom Cam Newton, who ran roughshod over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense for 171 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 65 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD. With this performance, Newton finished the season as the #2 ranked fantasy performer for the year, just behind the Fighting Falcon's Aaron Rodgers. The Sea Monsters also got help from a 21.62 point effort from Mark Sanchez, who got by the New York Giants defense for 258 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 13 rushing yards.

The Fighting Falcons, who were denied a 6th championship, were helped out in a losing cause by a 33.12 point effort from Aaron Rodgers, who scorched the Chicago Bears defense for 283 passing yards and 5 passing TDs in addition to 18 rushing yards. With this performance, Rodgers finished the season as the #1 ranked fantasy performer for 2011. The Fighting Falcons also got help from a 19.70 point effort from Jabar Gaffney, who got by the Minnesota Vikings defense for 77 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD.

"The best team won today," an emotional Fighting Falcons coach John Woods said. "Hats off to coach Turak and his team for an amazing season."
